West Coast Asset Management – LEED Platinum

The goal of this project was to create a LEED Platinum office for West Coast Asset Management. Each aspect of the project was examined through the lens of sustainability. Every square inch of the roof was used to make this a net-zero-energy building. A 2.85-kilowatt photovoltaic system provides the majority of the electricity. A solar thermal system supplies hot water for all uses in the building. All materials and interior finishes were selected to be rapidly renewable, nontoxic, regional, recycled, durable, and beautiful. Almost every green certification system appears on the list of products selected, from FSC to ISO 14001. The transformation of this old building into a LEED Platinum office builting that is a sustainable model for the neighborhood within a highly compressed time frame was remarkable. And the client’s deep commitment to a sustainable vision and outcome was commendable.
