Tea Fire House - Constructed at Earth Day

Tea Fire House

A crew from Allen Construction, along with a small group of trade contractors, donated their time and materials to build a 600-square-foot, energy-efficient, fire-resistant house—officially referred to as the Tea Fire Green Home Demonstration Project. The home, designed by Wade Davis Design, was built in only one week in Alameda Park for Earth Day 2009. The day after the Earth Day event, Allen Construction staff and a crew from Specialty Crane & Rigging used a 165-ton crane to load the two sections of the house onto flatbed trucks for the ride to the structure’s permanent location on Coyote Road. The new owner was Lisa Camarillo, who had lost her home in November 2008 in the Tea Fire.
